Real Estate Fraud Advisory Team (REFAT)

Real estate and related professionals have teamed up with the Ventura County District Attorney’s office to create a Real Estate Fraud Advisory Team. This team is committed to alerting the public to real esated-related fraud schemes and educating people on how to avoid becoming a victim of real estate fraud. The REFAT Public Outreach committee is working with Freddie Mac on the Don’t Borrow Trouble campaign. This campaign will be a combination of Public Service Announcements, media advertising, business to business networking and education seminars to ensure the public is made aware of the various types of fraud and how to avoid it.
